The Cobweb Scarf - Felting With Fleeces

Lena guides you through creating a delicate, airy cobweb-style scarf using fine felting techniques and natural fleeces for texture and depth. You’ll learn how to achieve that signature lightness while incorporating raw fleece for a soft, organic finish. Lena demonstrates two different layout methods, depending on how light, sheer, or woolly you want your final scarf to be — giving you creative flexibility and control over the result. Create a scarf that’s soft, sculptural, and beautifully wearable — a unique blend of texture and transparency.

FAQ

  • What will I learn in this class?

In the Cobweb Scarf with Fleeces class, presented by Lena, you’ll master a fine cobweb layout without the long and tiring process of stretching roving. Lena shares a method that’s so simple, she prepares her layout while sitting on the sofa! You’ll also learn how to felt fleeces and locks onto superfine wool, covered with silk fibres, and discover which fleeces work best for this technique.

  • I already took Lena’s previous class with fleeces. Is this the same?

No. The class you may know as Webs of the Wild: Fleeces on Silk uses a completely different technique. What’s taught in Fleece Stories is brand new and not a repeat of earlier content.

  • I’m confused by the term “fleeces” — do you mean individual locks? A: Great question! Even when separated into individual locks, the material still comes from a fleece. “Locks” are simply small bundles of fibres within a fleece.
