Very informative

I was surprised by how fine the layout was. I love all the tips and details in the course. I always learn so much even though I've been felting some time already.

My first felted gloves. Why not start the new year with a larger felt project? And with something new? A few years ago, I tried something new every day. While this might be a little too exciting for my older lazy self, I still would like to focus on new experiences, like felting gloves. Technically, I knew how to felt gloves. But I didn‘t know about the perfectly fitting resist pattern, the amount of wool and fibres used and the shrinkage factor. Thanks to a tutorial by Lena Archbold, I found out and felted these gloves. I‘m very happy with the result: no holes, a smooth, beautiful surface and - most importantly - these gloves fit my hands perfectly. As I have rather small hands with stubby fingers, it’s always challenging when buying conventional gloves, as they don’t fit. Well, these definitely do! They are flexible and light-weight, too, with just 38g. On top, these gloves are two-sided, a light green shiny viscose side is inside. This was the first time using viscose as an entire layer. So, lots of new experiences worked out fine: new tutor, new felt object, new material.

My new headband.. combining two classes, Felted flowers and Felted Gloves. The two little roses are a broach pinned to the headband for ease in washing. Now have fallen down the rabbit hole of making little flowers. Maybe a flower headband has jumped the que of making leg warmers!
